Staff Grants
The following grants are available to BSSD staff for extra funding beyond what is supported by the district budget.
BSEF Classroom Grants
2026-2027 Classroom Grant Applications
Effective September 2026, the Blue Springs Education Foundation will accept staff classroom grant applications exclusively through our online scholarship and grant application platform, SmarterSelect. Paper applications will no longer be accepted.
Application Deadline: Friday, October 30, 2026, by 11:59 p.m.
Blue Springs School District staff may apply for a BSEF Classroom Grant of up to $5,000 to enhance teaching and learning.
BSEF Classroom Grants help educators enrich student learning through funding for classroom resources, materials, programs, and educational experiences. Whether you are meeting a classroom need, strengthening instruction, or creating new opportunities for students, we encourage you to apply and share how your project will make a positive impact.
Applicant Requirements
Applicants must:

- Be employed as a staff member by the Blue Springs School District.
- Obtain approval from their building principal or administrator before submitting the application.
- Submit a complete application by the deadline.
- Comply with district and grant requirements, including any necessary review and approval by district departments such as Curriculum & Instruction, Special Services, and Information Technology.
- Use awarded funds only for approved purposes.
- Submit a project outcome/impact report if requested.

BSEF Creative Teaching Grants
2026-2027 Creative Teaching Grant Applications
Blue Springs School District staff may apply for a BSEF Creative Teaching Grant of up to $200 to support innovative ideas that enhance student learning.
Creative Teaching Grants provide funding for creative classroom projects, instructional materials, student enrichment opportunities, and other innovative ideas that engage students and support meaningful learning experiences. These grants are designed to help educators bring fresh ideas to life and make an immediate impact on their classrooms.
Applicant Requirements
Applicants must:

- Be employed by the Blue Springs School District as a teacher, administrator, or academic support staff member.
- Obtain approval from their building principal or administrator before submitting the application.
- Submit a complete application by the deadline.
- Requests must be for needs where funding is not otherwise available through school budgets, district resources, parent groups, etc.
- Proposed projects must support and may supplement the current district curriculum but may not replace district-adopted curriculum.
