Events

The awarding of teaching grants and student scholarships are truly highlights of the Foundation’s events and activities each year. In early December, the “BSEF Prize Patrol” surprises staff members across the district with the funding of grants for which they have applied, including over $89,000 in awards in 2024. Students in the district are celebrated at an annual reception and ceremony to announce scholarship winners each April, totaling over $250,000 last year. Finally, staff winners of a smaller “mini-grant” cycle are named in the spring.

The Foundation has two major fundraising events each year – its annual Spring Into Giving Breakfast and the Grow Your Own Teachers (GYOT) golf tournament. In 2025, we also partnered with East Forty Brewing in downtown Blue Springs for our first BSEF Night, where East Forty Brewing donated a portion of its proceeds to the Foundation.
